National Breastfeeding Awareness Day is scheduled to occur on August 12, 2023 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park Unisphere. This is the first event of its kind and scale targeted to support families that provide breastmilk to their child(ren). This event happens strategically in conjunction with National Breastfeeding Awareness Month which is celebrated internationally during the month of August. The event will include a breastfeeding support photoshoot, pregnancy parade, and new parent resource fair. We also plan to engage various cultural groups throughout New York City to provide performances and entertainment opportunities for a full day of fun. This event was created and marketed by Supporting Our Mothers Initiative, a cradle to college program.
